Yummy Chinese Restaurant

Hello Everyone,

While out promoting FF in El Cerrito we were starting to get hungry. I also realized I’ve yet to write a review of one of our favorite foods “Chinese” – with that said, right down the street in El Cerrito stood “Yummy Chinese Restaurant” located at 10264 San Pablo Ave in El Cerrito.

When entering Yummy Chinese, you will be greeted by a smiling face; with no reservation our party of four was easily accommodated. Yummy restaurant certainly has the look and feel of a Chinese restaurant with there daily specials written out on the chalk board when you enter. The restaurant has a comfortable look to it has tables aren’t bunched together allowing for private dining. Everything at this point was right on. We were seated immediately, water with lemon was brought to our table, and our drink order was quickly taken. It was time to order up to see if “Yummy” can live up to its name.
As we cruised the menu, we quickly noticed how very well priced the meals were as most entrees were under $10. Of all things, I knew I wanted some Hot and Sour soup as it was a cool day and something warm along with my tea sounded good.

Our server was informative, yet not intrusive during our dinner which was good. Very quickly our food started to arrive, my Hot and Sour soup was no disappointment, actually, just about perfect, not too spicy or salty.

I quickly moved on to some Mongolian Beef on the table. Folks, this is a must if you visit Yummy’s, the beef was marinated perfectly, practically melts in your mouth.

Next, my eye caught something I don’t believe I’ve ever had, a tasty crab fried wonton with cream cheese and crab. This was awesome, something my mouth has never captured before, and I’m really hoping I can find a place to clone this in the South Bay.

What I really enjoy about Chinese food is you can simply order a bunch of food and have a little of this or that, this night was no exception. Of course we had to eat somewhat healthy, so we included an order of Black Mushrooms; the mushrooms were soft with a ginger taste along with some green beans that tasted as they had a touch of sea salt on them. I backed this up with some tasty pork fried rice, one of my all time standard dishes.

By the end of the evening, I can’t believe how much we ate, how much were going home with and how little it cost. We had everything from Garlic Prawns to Fried Chicken Wings and everything in between. We left with a smile on our face and wished we lived a little closer to Yummy’s to eat there more often.

So if your traveling along the busy street of San Pablo Ave, stop in to this quaint neighborhood restaurant, enjoy the friendly service, large portions, fabulous selection all at a reasonable price.

FF Team!
