Hahn's Korean BBQ
Hello Everyone,Recently a few of us on the FF team thought we’d mix a little fun and work (yeah right) by doing some shopping and getting in another review. One specialty we’ve yet to dive into is the world of Korean BBQ. So after a little shopping in the city we chose a place that’s been around for quite a few years run by a nice family and that’s Hahn’s Hibachi Korean BBQ located at 1710 Polk St in San Francisco.
It would be an early dinner for us since some of us needed to get back to the South Bay for an event. With that said, we had no problem with getting a table that day. As you walk in you will notice it’s an informal neighborhood restaurant however very appropriate for taking a date. What you will get when your walk in is the aroma of Korean BBQ ribs and pork. The staff was very energetic and helped in some of our selections – for some on the FF team it was their first time eating Korean food so they needed a little assistance.
When you cruise the menu you will be both impressed with the many selections and possibly overwhelmed, there’s just so much to choose from like; several barbeque dishes, smoked meats along with more traditional dishes and of course many vegetable plates and some of my favorite smoked fish and salads.
For starters we had chicken and veggie pot stickers, which had a nice kick to them along with some pan fried oysters, dipped in egg then pan fried – best I’ve ever had. For my entrée I heard about Hahn’s secret sauce, so I went with the BBQ Pork & beef since a few on the team were a little undecided, we thought it was best to order a bunch of plates and share which worked out well.
All entrees are served with Rice, Sprout Salad, Cucumber Salad and Kimchee. We wanted to try a more traditional plate so we ordered Shrimp Chopchae which is succulent prawn’s fresh sautéed veggies and glass noodles. Folks keep in mind to bring your appetite; my BBQ plate was pretty big. . most likely, you will have leftovers for the next day. Our food came out rather quickly, my plate smelled so good, I liked my chops. Service that night couldn’t have been better, as the staff doesn’t skip a beat in keeping your drinks refilled and making sure you enjoy your dining experience.
Everyone, the toughest decision you will have at Hahn’s is what to order with there incredible variety. The food comes out fast and fresh with plenty of it. If you’re looking for some tasty Korean BBQ along with some of the more traditional Korean plates, stop by Hahn’s Korean BBQ. They would be honored to have you as a guest in one of there locations in San Francisco, Oakland or Palo Alto.
FF Team!
