Alexander's Steakhouse
Hello Everyone,As I was looking at my list of potential reviews, the FF team has yet to visit a fine steakhouse this year. OK, enough said, (it’s my favorite thing to eat); I dialed for us to visit Alexander’s Steakhouse located at 10330 N Wolfe Rd in Cupertino.
We had a 7:00 reservation, got there a few minutes before and were immediately seated in a large comfortable booth. I’ve only been to Alexander’s once before, so I came there hungry as can be to get the most I can out of my dining experience.
First I have to say, what an elegant dining establishment. I really like the twist of an American Steakhouse in addition offering up fine Japanese cuisine selections. Along with there fine food selections you will be able to compliment your food with some fine wines found locally along with other wines from various regions throughout the world.
I really wanted to enjoy some starters or at the very least a salad, however I knew what I wanted; it was a 20 oz Prime Rib. I knew I could take some home if I filled up, but I wanted to see how much of it I could eat that night. So, I know what you’re thinking, he had to have some Hamachi shooters. . your right. How can anyone resist that tender tuna in a shot glass?
I ended up compromising and shared an awesome Caesar salad, it was just enough to keep my stomach from flipping. The wine choice of the evening went to a local 2006 Plumpjack Merlot of Napa Valley – a clean taste that didn’t linger.
While I was savoring each and every bite of my Prime Rib. . so was everyone else. A few on the team had the 28 oz. dry-aged New York steak, while a few others were trying the 28 oz Australian filet mignon. Looking across the table I could only imagine how much meat we had, but was it good!
As you know from reading some of our reviews, the FF team loves to eat. Gosh, this night you would have thought we rediscovered food. Obviously, the steaks are incredible with a wide choice of the finest meat selections you will find. My Prime Rib was cooked to my liking with each bite melting in my mouth. Even though I was saving room for dessert I did stick my fork into the white truffle Mac 'n Cheese on the table – I could have made a meal out of this.
OK, by now 2 hours have passed, our service has been world class, now we needed help. We’re totally stuffed, can’t eat another bite, but we all want some dessert. After careful consultations with our server on what I can have few bites on and take home I went with the Apple Pie served with Carmel sauce along with a Red wine Carmel ice cream. I could only do about three bites since I had no more room however, it was as good as I thought it would be.
If anyone reading this review has never experienced fine dining at Alexander’s make a reservation and treat yourself to a world class dining experience where every dish prepared is done flawlessly. Simply put they don’t miss a beat!
FF Team!
