Tommaso Ristorante Italiano Restaurant

Recently the FF team paid a visit to Tommaso Ristorante Italiano Restaurant located at 1042 Kearny Street between Broadway and Pacific in San Francisco on a Saturday night and found it to be a very good for the value.

Parking was a royal pain - didn’t they know we were coming to write a review?

Tommaso’s is a small place that sits about 20 - 35 people. So make sure you arrive early (they don’t accept reservations – not even from us) put your name down and go down a few drinks, you could have a bit of a wait. The booths fit a small group and are very cozy . . a pretty good place for a date.

The service over all was attentive and they never forgot about us. I know what your thinking, they new we were going to write a review? NOT, we didn’t disclose to anyone there what our plan was.

We started with the Antipasto, plenty for us and a real value at $15 that included prosciutto, ham and artichoke hearts.

Since we were all pretty hungry, we started with a small pizza and with many choices, we went with the Mushrooms and sliced sausage (since I was buying). There pizzas were in the $15-$17 range, large a bit more, with plenty of selection. Cooked in a wood fired brick oven, the crust was cooked to perfection.

We then attacked the Pasta; I had the Linguine with Prawns, Scallops and Claims for $19 average price, but one of the best I’ve had with a tasteful kick to it. Most pasta dishes were in the $13 to $19 range. We also focused our forks on the stuffed veal, which was very good, well seasoned and flavorful.

Of course we couldn’t indulge without having a nice bottle of Rossa d. Montalcino (2005) ah, so nice.

Overall, Tommaso’s offers a nice cozy atmosphere, good value, reasonable priced and most important the FF idea strolled out very happy and full!

FF Team!
