Since opening Janice McCabe Interior Design in 1986, her design philosophy is to help clients develop their own unique style through an understanding of color, form, space, light and texture. A room that she designs evolves from her client\'s personality and keeps in mind the function of each space. A room can develop from unique pieces that create opulence, or from little whimsy that expresses a client\'s humor.
Conceptualization is the most important part of a project, Janice can be your consultant from blueprints forward, and giving your project guaranteed success. It’s critical to understand that living in a beautiful surrounding makes a difference in one’s life. Her work is dedicated on this principle.
At Janice McCabe Interior Design, their goal is to delineate style for those who want it. Her expertise and passion takes on a trusting and personable approach with each client on an individual basis.
Janice studied Interior Design at Northern Illinois University and Fine Arts at the Art Institute of Chicago. Right after college, she received wonderful training with a major retailer in the Chicago area. This led to her implementing the retailer\'s training program for new Interior Designers.
Janice started her own design firm when she realized how important it was to develop personal touches of her business that could be tailored to her client’s needs and to develop solid working relationships with her vendors and subcontractors. Janice McCabe Interior Design has been located in Los Gatos since 1986.
Janice loves helping her clients through their redecorating and remodeling projects. She has also worked with businesses helping to create their \"Image\" with their clients, specializing in reception areas and executive spaces. Her expertise includes Kitchen & Baths, Custom Cabinet Designs, Space Planning, Color Consultations, Custom Furnishings along with Carpet, Floor Coverings and Lighting ... and much more.
Janice has been featured in publications, such as: Gentry, Sunset Books Color, Sunset Books Window Treatments, Bay Living, Mercury News, Audio Video Interiors, and Designers Illustrated.
Janice has worked throughout the US and has traveled extensively throughout Europe. She especially loves France and Italy. She likes to incorporate pieces from her travels and her client\'s travels to adding special qualities of interest or \"conversation pieces\". She is always interested in discussing new projects.
Janice is a member of the ASID (American Society for Interior Designers), a board member on the Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce and current president of the Los Gatos Community Foundation. She enjoys being involved with many different Associations, which allows her to keep in touch with different areas of the community, maintain a balanced prospective and also give back to that wonderful community.
