Finally got my gf to go camp with me. It was her first experience, thankfully Henry Cowell is a pretty laid back place, not a lot of rowdy people. Big Basin State Park

I've been going here for about 6 years. They have it all including tent cabins with a very warm wood burning stove. Lots of hiking trails within walking distance of most campsites. Tahoe National Forest Campground

I took my kids here over the summer. They got a real good appreciation of the outdoors. It's a bit of a drive, however, we did some great hiking. I didn't bring my mountain bike but there's some awesome trails. There's just over 50 campsites so like most, plan ahead.
