One of my favorites, I don't live to far away usually bike there and hang for a few hours. If you drive, get there early as the parking lot will fill up. The park & rec takes good care of the beach, its clean, the bathrooms are serviced. Great views, enjoy.

Sunny Cove Beach

Smaller beach good place to bring your four legged friend. Easy to get to plenty of parking in the shopping center. It would be nice, if people did pick up after themselves. Can't believe how they leave crap all over.

26th Stree Beach in Santa Cruz

I've had my share of bon fires at this little local beach. I like its easy access, I sometimes jog it even though its not terribly long. My bf surfs here now and then says he has caught some nice waves from time to time. The crowd is friendly as its mostly locals only thing is parking can be a bear at times.

Ocean Beach

One of my favorite places in the city. You kind of get the best of both worlds, being on a beach and the city. My friends and I did a bon fire and roasted marshmellows a few weeks back, it was like being in junior high all over again.

Bonny Doon Beach

This is an awesome beach regardless of "which" side you enjoy. If basking in the sun on a nude beach is not your bag, then skip this. Don't go if your going to get bent out of shape.
