I've done some nature tours with a group I belong to in the Bay Area. A few times we went by Bodega Bay at the San Andreas Fault line to watch Pacific Gray whales migrate, they usually journey a few times a year, I think it's around January or so as they journey down from Alaska. Also great area to bird watch.
