I wanted to get out of the neighborhood for my weekend run this past weekend, so I went out to the Headlands. Lots of ways to make this a short run or a long run, I think I did about 5 miles. Black Mountain Trail

Just a suggestion, may want to leave your pup at home, I usually see people coming back pretty quick after they realize what a steep hike it is. You will enjoy great views and a nice work out as this hike makes me sweat big time. It's about 10 miles round trip, plenty of wild life to enjoy don't pack too much as you don't need the extra weight h..

I usually meet some friends at the Laurel Creek area from there it's a good hike probably 2 miles or so, great views of Dublin and Pleasanton.

Ano Nuevo Point Trail

I guess you can say this is a hike or a nice walk in the sand near the point, who will see seals along the trail. The hike is on flat surface and not difficult. I think it's about 4 miles, great view of Ano Nuevo Island. It's a very peaceful are, I usually go out there to slow life down and do some serious thinking!

Loch Lomond Recreation Area

Plenty of trails to explore in this lake surrounded by mountains in the Santa Cruz area. Event though you can boat, picnic, fish I've never founded it really crowded when I go hiking. Always a new trail to explore great for getting out in the mountain fresh air.
