Went there for a long weekend a few weeks back. Great views, we stayed at a motel close by since we wanted to be lazy and not camp. We did the hike to the summit. They say it last exploded in the early 1900's. You can see Mount Shasta in the distance along with other extinct volcanoes. It's about 5 1/2 hour drive just take 5 to Red Bluff, then..

The hubby took me here last year form my 30th. What a beautiful resort tucked away with beautiful views. I felt like a kid in a candy store, with a spa day with a massage and facial. Blue Ox Millworks & Historic Park

Took a long weekend with the wife drove up north to Eureka, visiting the Avenue of the Giants and also stopped by the Blue Ox Millworks. This is an old mill that has a museum and job shop that makes customs trim for Victorian buildings using the same machines that created the originals. Hyatt Vineyard Creek Hotel & Spa

Lake Tahoe Snowmobile Tours

I like the snow but with a bad leg can't ski. Next best is enjoying doing some snowmobile tours up at the lake. They have locations in both north & south Tahoe. The trails they take you seem to go on forever through the national forest. It's kind of costly over $100 for a couple of hours but I can blow that on a dinner or worse yet gamblin..
