Just got back from a couple of weeks in Italy, really didn't spend the needed time in Venice however hit the highlight which was taking a scenic boat ride down the Grand Canal to St Mark's Square. There you will be in the heart of Venice with lots of museums, along with the Basilica Church and the Bell Tower. If you can you should spend at minimum 2-3 days to include shopping and especially if your into museums.
