New Orleans Long Weekend!
New Orleans
I got back a few weeks ago. The hubby and I needed to get away since we didn't have time for a vacation last year. New Orleans is a lot of fun for an extended weekend. Of course the must is walking the French Quarter along Bourbon and Royal streets.
We also when on the Steamboat Natchez, which is the only authentic Steamboat in New Orleans. We also toured a couple of plantations.
First was the Oak Alley Plantation, where you will see and hear all about Whitney, Josephine, and Evergreen Plantations where you can check out the Greek Revival architecture.
Then we visited the Laura, a Creole Plantation and her historic slave quarters surrounded by sugar cane fields.
Naturally we also did the swamp and bayou tour and came face to face with some hungry gators. The sad part was still seeing some of the destruction of Hurricane Katrina.
